Structure
My speech was organised logically into paragraphs, with an effective introduction and a conclusion.
4 It had paragraphs and good ending conclusion as well as a nice intro.
Delivery
I used some gestures, stood still and made eye contact with my audience.
My voice was clear and loud. I didn’t speak too quickly or too slowly.
3 I didn’t use of hand gestures and I looked at my cue card a lot, but I made some eye contact.
My voice was a little quiet, but it was clear.
Content
My speech had a message and was original, interesting and relevant to the audience.
4 The important message was to make kids play a sport and get fit instead of just staying home and being lazy.
Language
I used ‘powerful’ words in my speech. I also included some language features (eg repetition, alliteration, similes etc)
2 I didn’t use any similes or powerful words in my speech.
Time
My speech was between 2 ½ and 3 ½ minutes long.
3 It was 1:27 mins long but I think I could maybe talk a little slower so that it can be 2 minutes.
Next time I need to …
Have more ideas and talk more slowly.
Teacher Comment
- You have a very soft and gentle voice which is ideal for the classroom. However when you’re delivering a speech I suggest you add a bit more volume to hook in your listener.
- It was very well written, well done. You included some great ideas and delivered them well without any interruptions.
- I like your inclusion of Tareeq and the link to Fortnite...very funny.
